Show Heifer of the Year

The Arkansas Junior Angus Association Show Heifer of the Year Award is awarded for points accumulated at 10 shows during the year. Junior members select ONE heifer on which to keep records. Points are calculated from the AJAA member’s County, District and State Fair plus seven shows of the exhibitor’s choice. The shows can be Open or Junior. The heifer can be owned or bred & owned.

This year’s Show Heifer of the Year is: GGM Enchantress Queen shown by Katlyn Tunstill, Fayetteville, AR. Katy is the daughter of Darrell and Sheri Tunstill and has grown up in the Arkansas Junior Angus Association. She attended her very first National Junior Angus Show when she was just 4. Show Bull of the Year

The Arkansas Junior Angus Association Show Bull of the Year Award is awarded for points accumulated at 10 shows during the year. Junior members select ONE bull on which to keep records. This award is open to all current Arkansas Junior Angus Association members. Points are calculated from the AJAA member’s County, District and State Fair plus seven shows of the exhibitor’s choice. The shows can be Open or Junior. The bull can be owned or bred & owned.

This year’s Show Bull of the Year is: DXC-LT New Design 6172 shown by Taylor LaCour, Berryville, AR. Taylor is the daughter of John and Patty LaCour. She is 12 years old and attends Berryville Public School. She is a member of a traveling basketball team, quiz bowl team, and junior high band. Taylor’s bull was Supreme Reserve Champion at the Hillbilly Jackpot and Owned Grand Champion at the Arkansas Junior Angus Preview Show. Laura Tribble, AJAA Advisor, presented the award. Diamond Award and Razorback Award

The Arkansas Junior Angus Association Diamond Award is awarded on points accumulated for all contests at the AJAA Preview Show excluding cattle and showmanship contests. The Razorback Award is awarded for points accumulated for contests at the National Junior Angus Show. Points are awarded for each entry in each contest plus additional points for placing 1st, 2nd, or 3rd.

This year’s winner of both the Diamond Award and the Razorback Award is Will Pohlman, Prairie Grove, AR. Will is the son of Dr. Fred and Tami Pohlman. He is 12 years old and attends Prairie Grove Junior High School. Will’s favorite contests are the public speaking, both prepared and extemporaneous.
